Mayon Volcano - Bicol Philippine

Philipine is a country with a lot of story to tell. Back in the seventies, it was the most advanced country in South East Asia with the open foreign policy that drew investment particulary from USA.

Sadly, the country fell in the hand of greedy Imelda, who was the first lady to the president Marcos. Since then Philippine never able to rise up again. Some how, I felt it was a curse.

It was one of the business trips to Philippine that I found this Mayon Volcano in Bicol. A place that worth to see, explore, take good pictures and help the economy a bit!

When the plane approached Mayon Volcano, the first sight that came to me was the little hills that protruded out like mushrooms, quite a scene to look at. Unfortunately, my Nikon DSLR was not with me, otherwise I would have taken some good shots at it.

The volcano was still alive and smoke could be seen clearly when the airplane flew pass it. Down at the Mayon volcano was the fertile green paddy fields. The land under volcano is always fertile, this statement is always true.

According to the history, there was a big eruption in 1814 and buried the whole city and left behid the bell tower of an old church. This was recorded at the remains of the Church.

Besides the volcano, you can go into the tunnel that dug by the Japanese during the world war 2. The tunnel is without any supporting structure like steel or concrete, so quite afraid that it will collapse.

Tanjung Sepat Selangor Malaysia

Tanjung Sepat is located south west of Selangor state Malaysia. It takes approximately one hour and 30 minutes to reach there from Puchong.

There are few routes that you can reach Tanjung Sepat and they are as follows:

Route 1 : Take Kesas Highway and exit to Banting and to Morib beach.
Route 2 : Take LDP Puchong Highway towards Dengkil and then to Banting and Morib.
Route 3 : Take LDP Puchong road towards F1 Sepang circuit and then to Sepang and Sungai Pelek.

On the way, you can see Tanjung Sepat road sign and you can't miss this.

What is good to take picture is the mangroove trees in Tanjung Sepat.  The spot is just at the road side near the Malay food stall before the Chinese Village.

It is quite unique because some of the mangroove trees are dead and leaving the bare tree trucks and branches standing in the bare coastline. When you look at the trees, you get a "desert feel" of no life and sense of remoteness! Amazing to find this in Malaysia.
