Kuching Sarawak - Malaysia

My first visit to Kuching for leisure was back to May this year (2012), although there were numerous business trip to Kuching. The total cost for four persons travelling by air plane was only RM200++ . Basically the air ticket was only RM 0.50 per person and the rest was airport tax and misc charges. Unbelievable deal from Air Asia!!

My son had fever when arrived Kuching so the trip was not too pleasant simply because I need to look after him. The weather was burning hot which made us unbearable. I think May is not a good month to visit Sarawak because of the hot weather.

Sarawak is a big state in Malaysia and plenty of space but with little people. Not much of activities at night, the shop and restaurant closed early. The mall is big but very empty and the crowd is just not enough. We only walked aroung in Kuching city and visited the Village Culture (This one is worth to see).

You need to rent a car to move around in Kuching because the public transport is not efficient. Each time you hop in the taxi, the fare is RM10 even the drive is very short distance. Nevertheless, the local food is different like the "Ko Lo Mee" which the speciality in Kuching Sarawak.

Few places in city that worth to walk around and see especially the museum, "Atap Street" and the waterfront. There are few Chinese temples in Kuching that are quite different. For me, I like to look at the sunset along the Sarawak river. You can take good photographs of it.
